Notes for Joseph Petelle

Eleanor L. Petelle-Poock Thursday, June 15, 2000 Eleanor L. Petelle-Poock, 77, an Andover resident for the past 18 years, died Friday, June 9 at Lawrence General Hospital.
Mrs. Petelle-Poock was born and educated in Lawrence. She graduated from Lawrence High School in 1941. She worked for Sutherland's Department Store in Lawrence and the Lawrence Housing Authority. She retired as a principal clerk from the Lawrence Experiment Station.
She loved dancing and spending time with her grandchildren.
She was the widow of Joseph H. Petelle. Members of her family include her husband of 18 years, William C. Poock; a son, Thomas J. Petelle and his wife Anne of Wilmington; a daughter, Joyce A. and her husband David J. Middlemiss of Methuen; stepdaughter, Patricia (Fowler) and her husband, Thomas Knightly of Methuen; stepson, Mark J. Poock of Methuen; a sister, Arlene Quinlan of North Hampton, N.H.; seven grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; one grandniece; and one grandnephew.
Arrangements were by Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley St., Methuen.

Evelyn M. Petelle
Evelyn M. Petelle, 87, of Derby Line died in Newport on May 8, 2010.
She was born on November 11, 1922, a daughter of Henry and Octavia (Brooks) Valley.
On April 28, 1946, she married Raymond Petelle, who predeceased her.
Mrs. Petelle worked as a secretary for many years at Butterfields and the former Edwin Earle Insurance Agency. She was an active member of St. Edward’s Catholic Church and the Ladies Alter Society. She was also an RSVP volunteer and helped out for several years in Joan Sbara’s third-grade class in that capacity. She also enjoyed making arts and crafts and taking trips with her late husband.
Mrs. Petelle is survived by her son Russell Petelle and his wife, Anne Marie, of Derby Line; and by the following grandchildren: Heidi Santaw and her husband, Shawn, Raymond Beauchesne and his wife, Vicki, Rebecca Petelle and her companion, Kevin Purcell, Regan Vaine and her husband, Jerry, Skyler Boushel, Paul and Hannah Chambers; and by the following great-grandchildren: Abigail and T.J. Santaw, Joshua, Ryan, Alex, and Landon Beauchesne, Maddie and Daven Vaine. She was predeceased by a son, Darrell Petelle, and by a daughter, Phyllis Beauchesne.
Funeral services were held on May 11 at St. Edward’s Catholic Church in Derby Line where a Mass was celebrated. Interment followed in St. Edward’s Cemetery.

Clifford Petelle, 88 LUDLOW -- Clifford H. Petelle, 83, died Wednesday in Springfield Hospital.
He was born in Ludlow on Jan. 18, 1914, a son of Edmond Petelle and Ida Provo.
Mr. Petelle received his education from Ludlow schools and had worked at Jewell Woolen Mill for several years as well as Dartmouth Woolen Mill in Claremont.
In 1937, he married Florence Shaw in Ludlow. She died in 1996.
Mr. Petelle was a member of the Church of Annunciation and enjoyed traveling.
Survivors include one sister, Florida Emery of Sringfield; and nieces and nephews.
He was also predeceased by four brothers, Alfred, Francis, Wilfred and Arthur, and one sister, Bertha Manley.
Calling hours are from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday in the AdamsGendron Funeral Home at 12 Meadow St. in Ludlow.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in the funeral home with the Rev. Betty Berlenbach officiating.
Burial will be in the Pleasantview Cemetery in Ludlow.
