His brother-in-law, John J.F. Bennett, and himself (AJ Beckford) both sacrifieced their lives for their country in the war of the Rebellion. The were members of the Sixty-Fifth Regiment O.V.I. Bennett was wounded at the battle of Chickamauga, and died January 15, 1864.
