WATERTOWN, N.Y. – Harold E. Gilbo, 72, of 289 Howk St., Watertown, died May 11, 2006 at the Samaritan Keep Nursing Home, where he has resided since May 25, 2004. Arrangements are with the Hart & Bruce Funeral Home.
Calling hours are Monday 9 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home with a funeral service to follow 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Ronald Pickett, pastor of Grace Wesleyan Church officiating. Burial will follow in the North Watertown Cemetery.
Among his survivors are his wife, Barbara C. Gilbo of Watertown, a daughter, Debra M. Gilbo of Watertown, 2 sons and daughter in laws, Norman H. & Joy M. Gilbo of Watertown and Jeffrey R. & Pam Gilbo of St. Charles, Missouri, a brother and sister in law, James & Angie Gilbo of LaFargeville, a sister, Flora Mullis of Watertown, 3 grand children and several nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by 6 brothers, Clinton, Clyde, Norman, Roy "Fred", Richard, Gerald Gilbo, and 2 sisters, Vernice Avery and Violet Badore.
Harold was born on September 29, 1933 in Watertown, NY son of Roy and Rose Rushlow Gilbo. He attended school in Watertown. Following school he worked as a handy man at Morgia's Restaurant in Watertown, he was a local house painter, and a dishwasher for 18 years at F.W. Woolworth's, retiring in 1996. He then worked at Denny's as a dishwasher for a 1 ?.
He married Barbara C. Horton of Chaumont on June 1, 1957 at the Chaumont Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Gilbo worked 50 years for several local trucking company's as a billing clerk, including Tiel's, Seabury, Burns and Seaway Motors, retiring.
