He was a son of George A. and Theresa Schermerhorn Rushlow. He attended Carthage schools.

He married Elizabeth M. Noyes on 7/6/1943 in the Methodist church.

He worked as a carpenter for the former Adirondack Core and Plug Co. for 45 years, retiring in 1982.

Surviving was his wife; four sons, Jerry, Larry, Richard, and Robert; four daughters, Mrs. Raymond (Nancy) Campany, Mrs. Lloyd (Genevieve) Rhone, Mrs. David (Dorothy) Moses, and Rosemary Bauter; 19 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren.; and a sister, Margie O’Shaughnessy.

A sister, Marion, and a grandson died before him.
