Notes for Mary B Frederick

OBIT:Mrs. Mary Bittner, 74, member of a pioneer Kittitas Valley family, died in St. Elizabeth Hospital in Yakima last night after a lengthy illness. She was the widow of a Yakima physician, Dr. J. E. Bittner, Sr., who died earlier this year.Mrs. Bittner came to the Kittitas Valley with her parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry Frederick, in 1876, when she was one year old. The family came West from Nebraska, traveling to the Kittitas Valley from The Dalles, Oregon, in mule-drawn wagons on a trio which took six days. The family settled on the West Side, where one of three surviving brothers, Phil Frederick, still lives.The two other surviving brothers are Jake Frederick of Ellensburg and Anthony Frederick of Naches. A stepson, Dr. J. E. Bittner, Jr., of Yakima, also survives.Mrs. Bittner first was married to Frank Snipes of Yakima. He died about 30 years ago.
