Age 47, District 23, Spice Valley, Lawrence, IN, 1930 census. Living with Rosa B.
Social Security says he died Jan 1965.
Alfred had two adopted children according the 1930 census. Alfred R. Chapman Jr. & Mary L. Gehring. According to a letter from Virginia Mae Atchison, Alfred had a sister, Ellie Sanders. Unfortunately, all I have is that his fifth wife was probably Gertrude ? She would have married him after Iva J. Pierson/Pearson divorced him. She filed for divorce in Jan. 1947. The summons was sent to him at the Soldiers State Home in Lafayette, IN on January 14, 1947. I believe he worked there.
