(Runyon) Gerkin, 98, Anderson, went to be with her beloved husband, Emmitt, and her heavenly father April 22, 2010.Margaret was born May 9, 1911 in Orange County, Ind., the daughter of William Runyon and Effie (Yates) Runyon McLane.She began a career as a beautician in Salem, with shops in various cities in Indiana, however, she completed her career in Anderson where she maintained a shop in her home so that she could care for her family as well as her career.Margaret and her husband, Emmitt, were members of Meadowbrook Baptist Church in Anderson for many years.Margaret leaves to cherish her memory . . ..Margaret was preceded in death by her husband Emmitt Gerkin; daughter, Sandy Gerkin; great granddaughter, Allyson Paige Gerkin; parents, William Runyan and Effie (Yates) Runyon McLane; sister, Nettie Dillard and brothers, Bert L. Runyon, Oliver Runyon and William B. Runyon.Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Robert D. Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, South Chapel; 200 W. 53rd St.Services will be 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, south chapel, with Pastor Dennis Zirkle officiating.Burial will be in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.
