In 1930 , he reports his age as 69 (b. abt 1860/61) and reports hi s birth Illinois, parents in Kentucky. In 1920, he report s his age as 60 (1859) and his birth Illinois, parents in K entucky. In 1900, he reported his birth as Sep 1859 meanin g that he should have been listed in the 1860 census. Th e surname is often spelled Crain rather than Crane in thes e census reports although it is spelled Crane in 1920 and 1 930 and in the death record.Listed on South Third St in the 1910 census of Tamaroa, Per ry County, Illinois.Residing in the same dwelling (#254) in the 1920 Federal C ensus of Tamaroa, Perry County, Illinoiswas the family of W illiam Crane, age 23, with wife Winnie, age20 and son Cliff ord J., age 4.
