Joshua married Sarah Murphy on June 3, 1819 in Wilkes Co., N.C. in the area that is now Taylorsville, Alexander County. Their children were Jane, Eli, Mary, Solomon, Celia, Alexander, Martha Caroline, and Levi. Levi was my great-grandfather. Joshua was a grandson of "Deaf John" Barnes, and a great-grandson of Brinsley Barnes, Sr. He and his family came to Lawrence County, Indiana in either 1828 or 1829.
