APRIL 30, 1932-MARCH 5, 2006 William "Bill" L. Gerkin, 73, of Washington, formerly of Mitchell, Indiana died Sunday at Herman Memorial Hospital in Houston, Texas. He had worked as a heavy equipment operator for B&LS Construction and Ralph Rogers Group. Survivors include his wife, Wanda Gerkin; one son, William Scott Gerkin of Springville; two daughters, Bilanda Jean Gerkin and Sherry Ann Theine, both of Washington; and three brothers, John Gerkin of Harker Heights, Texas, Norman Gerkin of Montgomery and Ronald Gerkin of Bedford. Chastain Funeral Home in Mitchell. Burial will be at Mitchell Cemetery.
