Jan 1 1963 Lawrence County, IndianaNancy Ann "Anna" Gerking was the daughter of Robert Gerking (youngest son of John Gerking, Jr. and Mary "Polly" Phillips) and Mary Eliza Talbott, the daughter of Alfred G. Talbott and Mary Jane Felknor. Mary Eliza Talbott b. Jul 7 1844 Orange Co., IN d. May 17 1928. This is the Mary E. Gerking listed in the 1920 census with the Edwards family.Robert Gerking died Feb 26 1911 after being in poor health for years due to exposure and disease contracted during the Civil War. All of their 11 children were married with families of their own, and didn't want their mother Mary Eliza (Talbott) Gerking to live alone, so she started visiting around among them.
