Notes for Wayne L Culler
!Source: Wayne L. Culler web page 1 jul 1998
I graduated from High School in May 1940. We lived in Chewelah, Wa., a small town 50 miles North of Spokane. There was no work in the Chewelah area for a 17 year old. My mother's sister and her husband had a ranch in Montana and always needed summer help. I worked on the ranch that summer with my cousins. Pete and Jack, twins, were my age. It was one of the most wonderful summers I had spent. I was working and riding horses again. We worked hard but it seemed more like a vacation. I joined the Navy the following January and made the Navy a career. I retired from the Navy in July 1959 after 20 years service. I was stationed at Moffett Field in Mt. View California at the time. My wife and I enjoyed living in California, we had a home in Santa Clara and I found work at the new Lockheed facility in Sunnyvale. We have been here ever since.
