The family migrated to Lawrence County, Indiana around 1830. Luranna moved to Nebraska on a wagon with close friends and relatives after her second husband, John Andrew Gerkin, died. She married him on September 12, 1855, and they had one child, Joseph. She married her first husband, Isaiah "Stewart" Myers on August 18, 1833 and they had ten children.
