"Sarah Frances Gerking (Frankie), October 1861, Newton Sullivan Co. MO; died 3 August 1913, Olympia, Thurston Co., WA of stomach cancer; buried Tahoma Cemetery Yakima, Wa; m (1) 2 March 1879, Centerville (now Athena), Umatilla Co. OR to James Ezra Leaming. The marriage was performed by her grandfather, Jonathan Rice Gerking. Ezra was b ca 1855, Ohio: div. m (2) Rosswell M. Beck, a teacher in Yakima schools. He d of penmonia ca 1989 prior to the birth of their dau. Maude Frances; m (3) Dr. Homer Gray. Frankie had 6 children by her first two marriages. Mr. Beck had been married previously to Margaret Frederick who d 1889. He had 2 children by that marriage."

Research Notes: While searching records at the Yakima county court house -- We found that Sarah was Married to a Amos J Allen on 26 May 1890 -- and in 1892 when she married Roswell Beck her last name was Allen.. A record search for information on what happened to Allen could not be found -- This would make Roswell her 3rd husband and not the second as stated in the book "The Gerking Family in America"
