Notes for Marie Martha Boes

Mrs. Karcher, a homemaker, also worked as a teacher's aide and cook at Forest Elementary School and in housekeeping at Fairhaven Community Health Care Center for three years. She and her husband, also were caretakers of Jackson Township cemeteries and roads for 13 years. and she helped on the family farm. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Kirby and its Rosary Altar Society and served as a former parish council member and lay minister. She also was a member of the Wyandot Memorial Hospital Guild, Wyandot County Senior Citizens, where she was involved in fund-raising projects, the Farmers Union, Local AARP Chapter and the Farm Bureau Council She was a past member of the Happy Harvest Council Group, a Red Cross blood donor; was awarded, by the State of Ohio, for extraordinary volunteer service to her community and was awarded, by the Ohio House of Representatives, as an Outstanding Senior Citizen for Wyandot County for the Area Agency on Aging Inc. Mrs. Karcher visited nursing homes and housebound residents and provided transportation to those in need.
