ROWLAND, Elzine (McKenzie) 1877-1959 Elzine Rowland Rites Sunday At Relief Mrs. Elzina Rowland, 81, died at her home at Relief at 5:15 p.m. Thursday, February 19 1959, following a five year illness. The daughter of James and Martha Lemaster McKenzie, she was born May 15 1877, in this county, but had resided for most of her life at Relief. She was a member of the United Baptist Church. Her husband, Jerry Rowland, preceded her in death twelve years ago. Surviving are fours sons, Creed, Dewey, Claudie, all of Relief; James Rowland, of Fairborn, Ohio; three daughters, Alice and Linnie Rowland, both of Relief; Terie Pennington, Flat Gap; three brothers, Enoch and Loranz McKenzie, both of West Liberty; Marcus McKenzie, Millard, Virginia; one sister, Louemma Tucker, Jenkins. Funeral services were conducted from the home at 10:00 a.m. Sunday February 22, with Lonza Reed, A.C. Bradley, Fred Rowland, and Herschell McKenzie, as officiaitng ministers. Singing was by Mr. and Mrs. A.L. Bradley and Ella Brown. Burial followed in the family cemetery. PAINTSVILLE HERALD FEB.25 1959
