Edward Jopseph Werling, Jr., 74, of 79 Wentz St., Tiffin died at 11:16 a.m., Thursday, April 16, 1999, at Wyandot Memorial Hospital. He was born on June 11, 1924, in Tiffin to Edward J. Sr., and Leona (Fredritz) Werling. On Nov. 25, 1948, he married Iretha Rose Taylor in St. Mary Catholic Church, and she survives.
Other survivors include: two sons, Michael Werling of Olney, Ill., and Stephen Werling of San Antonio, Texas.; four daughters, Mrs. Lloyd (Renee) Sand, Mrs. Joseph (Madeline) Scherger; Theresa Warnement and Margaret Werling, all of Tiffin; two brothers, Robert Werling of Stuart, Fla., and Eugene Werling of Tiffin; five sisters, Mrs. Paul (Donna) Riemer of Tiffin, Mrs. Lambert (Regina) Gassner of Tiffin, Mrs. Francis (Mary Ann) Kern of Tiffin, Mrs. Robert (Joyce) Mortimer of Melbourne, Fla., and Mrs. Jack (Rita) Myrann of Pheonix, Ariz.; ten grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and three step-great grandchildren.
Preceded in death were: a sister, Madeline Kiesel; three brothers Paul, Harold and Gerald Werling; and a granddaughter.
Mr. Werling worked for National Machinery for 33 years and retired in 1988 as a machinist. Memberships included: St. Mary Catholic Church; Knights of Columbus 3rd degree; Eagles Lodge Aerie 402 of Tiffin; National Machinery Quarter Century Club, and formerly active in the Boy scouts.
The Rev. Frank Murd will officiate the 1:30 p.m. Monday service at St. Mary Catholic Church in Tiffin. Burial will be at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation hours are from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Hannay-Traunero Funeral Home, 214 S. Monroe St., Tiffin.
A wake service will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday; Quarter Century Club will meet at 7 p.m. Sunday, and the Rosary will be recited 15 minutes prior to the Funeral Mass on Monday.
Memorials may be made to: St. Mary Catholic Church; Eaglewood Care Center of Carey; or to a charity of the donor's choice.

Edward J. Werling Jr., 74, of 79 Wentz St., died at 11:16 a.m. Thursday, April 15, 1999, at Wyandot Memorial Hospital, Upper Sandusky. Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Hannay-Traunero Funeral Home. The funeral Mass will be Monday at St. Mary Catholic Church. Further arrangements are pending at the funeral home.

Edward Joseph WERLING Jr. was born on 11 June 1924 in Tiffin, Seneca County, Ohio, USA. He died on 15 April 1999 at the age of 74 in Upper Sandusky, Crane Township, Wyandot County, Ohio, USA (Wyandot Memorial Hospital). He was buried on 19 April 1999 in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery, Tiffin, Clinton Township, Seneca County, Ohio, USA. Edward had Social Security Number 293-16-2008 (Ohio, bef. 1951). Last residence: Tiffin, Seneca County, Ohio. Parents: Edward Joseph WERLING Sr. and Leona Esther FREDRITZ .
