She was a daughter of Emmett and Mildred (Evie) Horton. She graduated from Chaumont High School in 1949.

She married Harold E. Gilbo on 6/1/1957 at the Chaumont Presbyterian Church. He died in 2006.

She worked fifty years for several local trucking companies such as Teals, Seaway Motors, Seabury and Burns Express as a computer clerk, retiring in 2003. She enjoyed bingo.

She was survived by two sons, Norman H. (Joy M.) and Jeffrey R. (Pam M.); a daughter, Debra M. Gilbo; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, Kent (Pa); and a sister, Mrs. Nick (Marianne) Cuppernall.
