Violet S. Bedore, 86, of 811 Boyd St., died Wednesday at Samaritan Medical Center, where she had been a patient since Dec. 26.

Mrs. Bedore was a homemaker.

Born Oct. 25, 1917, in Watertown, one of 18 children of Roy and Rosella Rushlo Gilbo, she attended Watertown schools.

She married Cecil E. Bedore on June 28, 1934, at Depauville. He died Sept. 22, 1978.

Surviving are two daughters, Rose Soluri, Watertown, and Loretta Langridge, Colorado; a son, Donald, Watertown; a sister, Flora Mullis, Watertown; two brothers, Harold Gilbo, Watertown, and James Gilbo, LaFargeville; 23 grandchildren and several great- and great- great-grandchildren.

Four daughters, Norma C. Veley, Mary J. Yetz, Flora M. Carr and Arlene Bedore, two sons, Cecil E. Jr. and Eugene, and several siblings including a sister, Vernice E. Avery, and six brothers, Norman R., Clinton, Frederick, Clyde, Gerald and Richard Gilbo, died before her.

The funeral will be at 4 p.m. Friday at Reed & Benoit Funeral Home. Spring burial will be in North Watertown Cemetery.

Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
