Fred Rushlow is the son of Mrs. Lucy Hall of South James Street. He volunteering at the time of the Mexican trouble and trained for the World War at Camp Wadsworth and went overseas in June 1918. He was wounded with a piece of shrapnel which entered the back and came out on the ride side of his chest. After spending weeks in the hospital he resumed active service. A brother, Charles R., is still in France in a hospital.

Private Frederick A. Rushlow, Company C, Marries Miss Julia LaBreck

Private Frederick A. Rushlow of Carthage, who arrived home last Friday from overseas service with Company C, 107th Infantry, 27th division, and Miss Julia M. LaBreck, of 100 Mill street, were married at 8 Tuesday evening by Rev. James H. Kreeling (?), pastor of Faith Chapel, at his home, ??? South Massey St.

They were attended by Mr. and Mrs. (unclear). The bride was attired in a blue suit with waist of white georgette crepe and hat to match. Mr. and Mrs. Rushlow will make their home at 1011 Gotham street.

Private Rushlow was overseas with Company C, and was wounded Sept. 29 when the Hindenburg line was pierced by the 27th division. He received a Distinguished Service Cross for his bravery in action. He arrived in the United States March 5, and after participating in the 27th division parade returned home last Friday.

He is the son of Mrs. Lucy Rushlow of 225 (?) South James street, Carthage, and was a papermaker prior to entering federal service. Miss LaBreck is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph LaBreck. She has been living with her grandmother at 100 Mill street. She is 80 years old and Private Rushlow is 25.

Private Rushlow made his home in this city for a time before going overseas and was acquaintanted with Miss LaBreck while residing here. They were not engaged, however and arrangements for the ceremony were all perfected since his arrival Friday.
