CLAYTON - Erma E. Jeffers, 81, East Line Road, died at 7:49 p.m. Monday a t her home.
Mrs. Jeffers was a sewing machine operator at Johnstown Knitting Mill a nd a clerk at Pearl's Department Store and, through Green Thumb, was a b ookkeeper at Paynter Senior Center.
She was a former member of Christ Episcopal Church.
Born July 28, 1920, at Great Bend, a daughter of John M. and Ethel Guye tt Ellwood, she attended Canton and Watertown schools, graduating from W atertown High School.
She married Sidney R. Jeffers on Oct. 9, 1940, at Christ Episcopal Chur ch with the Rev. Henry W. Bell officiating. Mr. Jeffers, an assembler a t Frink Sno-Plow, died Oct. 13, 1993.
Surviving are two sons, Gary R. and Robert L., both of Clayton, six gra ndchildren, eight great-grandchildren and two cousins.
A brother and a sister died before her.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Cummings Funeral Home with the R ev. Nancy C. Betz, rector of Christ Episcopal Church, officiating. Spri ng burial will be in Clayton Cemetery.
There are no calling hours.
