Irena (Irene) Valley 94, Crookston, MN, died Wednesday, July 6, 2011, at Riverview Healthcare Center, Crookston.

Irena Frances Logan was born February 9, 1917 in Ortonville, MN; the daughter of Thomas and Rose (Herley) Logan. At the age of 13, Irene moved with her family to Beltrami, MN, where she attended rural school. In 1936, she moved to Crookston and worked as a housekeeper. She also worked at St. Joseph's Academy for 12 years. Irene was united in marriage to Lloyd Valley on July 4, 1939 in Crookston. She also worked at Red Owl, and at the Country Club Motel for 11 years until she retired in 1979. Irene was a member of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Crookston, MN.

Irene is survived by a nephew who she raised as a son, LeRoy Larson, Waukesha, WI, a brother, Clair Logan, Aurora, MN; 3 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Lloyd in 1992, a brother Harold, two infant brothers, and three sisters, Mary Turk, Rosezella Lauder, and Anna Hagen.

The funeral mass will be on Monday, July 11, 2011 at 10:30 AM at the Stenshoel-Houske Funeral Home in Crookston with visitation one hour before the funeral at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery in Crookston, Minnesota.
