Notes for Emily K Kostrzewski
Emily K. Valley, 91, of Crookston, Minnesota, died early Monday morning, July 17, 2006, in the Villa St. Vincent Nursing Home in Crookston. Emily was born at Stephen, Minnesota on April 13, 1915, the daughter of William and Anna (Szczepanski) Kostrzewski. She grew up on the family farm, was baptized and confirmed in the Catholic faith, and attended the Golden Glow District 55E county school, East of Stephen. Emily was united in marriage to Paul L. Valley at Florian, Minnesota on October 19, 1938. The couple make their home in the Crookston and Gentilly area throughout their married life. Over the years Emily did housekeeping for several Crookston families, while Paul worked in construction, and later for the Crookston School District. Emily enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening, and spending time with Paul at the couple's lake cabin. She was an excellent cook and loved entertaining her family and friends. Sadly, Paul passed away on June 6, 1998. Two years ago Emily moved to the Summit Apartments in the Villa St. Vincent complex and just a week ago moved to the Nursing Home. She was a devoted member of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception parish, and a lifetime member of the VFW Auxiliary. Emily will be very lovingly remembered and sadly missed by all who were a part of her life.
