PENDLETON - Betty Mae Britain, 80, of Pendleton died quietly in her sleep Thursday, Sept. 17, 2009, in Pendleton.

A graveside funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 25 at Olney Cemetery in Pendleton.

Mrs. Britain was born Nov. 3, 1928, in Hood River to John Markley and Ethel Mae (Camp) Moore.

She was raised in Hood River and graduated from Hood River High School in 1946.

In 1946 she moved to Pendleton, where she met and fell in love with EUGENE (Gene) F. BRITAIN; they married in 1947. She remained in Pendleton the remainder of her life.

Survivors include children Donna (Britain) Arroyo of Pendleton, Michael (Mike) Britain of Finley, Wash., and Gerald (Jerry) Britain of Boise, Idaho; sisters Frances Henne and Mary Patterson, both of Hood River; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Eugene; brother John (Jack) Moore; and grandson Kona Britain.
