Anna Ellig
Anna Ellig, 93, Cook, died in Tecumseh on Monday, May 18, 2009. Born on November 8, 1915, in rural Pickrell to John and Grace (Leners) Carstens.
Married Fred Ellig in Kansas on April 4, 1940. Was member of Hope Lutheran Church, Burr. Loved to quilt, making handmade doll clothes, and loved to cook and bake bread. Was farmer’s wife whose job description was that she had to run for parts, drive farm trucks and help with planting and harvest.
Survived by: daughter, Carolyn Pojar, Lincoln; daughter and son-in-law, Diane and Rodney Roesener, Cook; daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Bruce Gerking, Burr; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and extended family.
Preceded in death by: parents; husband, Fred; four brothers; and three sisters.
Graveside services were Friday, May 22, at Hope Lutheran Cemetery, Burr, followed by a memorial funeral service at Hope Lutheran Church, Burr. Memorials are suggested to Nebraska Children’s Home or family’s choice. Condolences may be left at . Fusselman-Wymore Funeral Home, Syracuse, in charge of arrangements.
