Reuben E. Hunter SLOAN, Iowa - Reuben Eugene Hunter, 73, formerly of Sloan died Dec. 30, 1997, in Baldwin Park, Calif.
Burial was in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Covina, Calif., on Jan. 6, 1998.
Mr. Hunter was born June 22, 1924, in Albaton, Iowa, the son of Reuben and Edith (Gerking) Hunter. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II as a gunner's mate on Merchant Marine ships in the Atlantic and Pacific Theaters.
He married Virginia Louise Camp on June 21, 1957, in Las Vegas, Nev. He was employed with Mack Trucks for 30 years, retiring in 1986.
Survivors include his wife; a stepdaughter, Shirley Watt of Michigan; a son, Darrell of Baldwin Park; six brothers, Donald, Kendall and George of Sloan, Roger of Sioux City, David of Stanton, Calif. and Lowell of Falls Church, Va.; and a sister, Virginia Hackett of Bartlesville, Okla.
Pallbearers were his brothers.
