she survived him, as did one sister and one brother. The funeral was

GERKING, [Albert David]
(illegible cement)
[23 Dec 1878 - 26 Oct 1908]

Albert David Gerking was the son of David & Sarah A. Gerking The
Gerkings were in Silverton Pct. in 1870 and in Sublimity Pct. in 1880
with a large family. According to Albert’s obituary, he was survived
by one sister and one brother - unfortunately they are not named.
Possibly they meant only the ones living in the Stayton area.

His father, David Gerking appears to have died in February or March
1899 as a Card of Thanks is in the Stayton Mail of 10 March 1899
thanking the "got people of Stayton" for assistance during illness &
funeral of David Gerking, deceased. It was signed by J. N. 13. Gerking
and Mrs. A. C . Hepburn (note Albert was not included) and these two
"could" be the brother & sister referred to in Albert's obituary.
Unfortunately, there is no mention as to the burial place of David
Gerking, although one would tend to think it would be somewhere in the
Stayton/Sublimity area.

Beulah (Hardin) Gerking, the wife of Albert D. Gerking, was a
granddaughter of Leander & Martha (Lowry) Brown who are in Sec. 2 Lot
36. Her parents were John J. & Dora (Brown) Hardin. The sexton
records indicate she remarried, being Beulah Caruthers of Pleasant
Hill, OR [her parents also lived there].
