Yes it does look confusing, but it really isn't. William and Christina BECK
were childless. William's brother Solomon had 14. One of which was named
William (after his uncle William). Follow me? When Solomon and his wife
decided to move to Indiana, Brother William (b1766) begged Solomon to let him
adopt nephew William (b.1802) so that he may have an heir. That is why
William (b. 1802) appears twice. Once as son of Solomon and once as son of
