Glenn O. Snodgrass PUBLISHED ON November 6, 2005 Yakima Herald-Republic (WA) YAKIMA - Glenn O. Snodgrass, age 89, of Yakima, died November 3, 2005. Born December 7, 1915 to Otis K. Snodgrass & Eva (Beck). His great grandparents were John Wilson Beck, the first Judge in Yakima & Martha (Goodwin), the first school teacher in Yakima, who homesteaded in the Yakima Valley in 1869.
Glenn was born and lived his entire life in Yakima, except for 4 years working in the shipyards in Seattle during WWII.
His greatest joy in life was his family. He loved music, RV traveling, hunting, fishing, being in the mountains and at the ocean. He was a life-long member of the Musicians Union. He started playing the drums in dance bands at lodges with his 2 older sisters when he was 5 years old. His careers were as a musician for 60 years while also working as a surveyor with the State Highway Department for 27 years.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Dorothy Mae (Ingram), and two sisters, Lola Burge and Opal Christie.
He is survived by one son, Gerald (Deanne) Snodgrass of Renton, WA and two daughters, Janice (Max) Carver & Glenda (Fran) Jensen of Yakima. He has 9 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and 9 great great grandchildren.
A private family service and burial will be held at Bickleton, WA. Arrangements are by Shaw & Sons.
